Who are we? Born out of the Women’s March London in January 2017, we are a group of Suffolk-based women brought together by frustration and anger and united in a desire to make a difference.
Why are we? We are not affiliated to a particular political party but we are interested in progressive politics. We are fighting against misogyny, inequality and injustice.
What do we do? As a group we come together to raise money for local charities, to lobby our local politicians on issues that affect the marginalised in society and to raise awareness for issues like domestic violence. We have, so far, raised money for The Lighthouse in Ipswich, Suffolk Rape Crisis and organised collections for Friends of Suffolk Refugees. If you know of a charity in need of funds or help getting their message out and think we might be able to help please email us.
What else? We’re a support group for our members. This world is a crazy place. Our closed Facebook group is a place where members can share frustrations, ideas, petitions, pleas for help or just something that we can all have a good laugh about.
We organise regular informal meetings and can help you find friends local to you to share with. We currently have more than 95 members (November 2019)
